Statistics reel out, leaving one stunned at the enormity of loss and appalled at the disjointed response to provide relief. Gujarat temblor results in Budget 2000-01 tremors - Dated :2/4/01 The devastating earthquake in Gujarat has upset Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha`s calculations, and he has now to rework the budget to provide for possible fresh taxes to garner resources for rebuilding the quake-hit state, estimated to cost at least Rs 25,000 crore.
